BREAD
BRayton cycle for combined hEAt and colD
The project works with an integrated approach considering technical, economic, ecologic, installer, maintenance, and user issues.
Project AIM
The overall aim of the project BREAD is the development of a sub-Megawatt (MW) scale heating and cooling system that will provide heat at temperatures above 250 °C and cooling around 0 °C and below. It will smartly integrate heat pump, heat exchanger and heat storage technology.
Motivation
Minimize the environmental impact over the full value chain of the BREAD technologies and maximize the flexibility of the thermal energy delivered leading to more socially/stakeholders accepted industrial integrated energy solutions.
BREAD Project
Partner consortium
The project aims to increase European industry’s competitiveness in the heating and cooling sector and support the development and pre-commercialization of disruptive technologies. The BREAD project brought together partners from Germany, Belgium, and Sweden who have the necessary competencies as well as a strong network to allow a quick product development and market introduction in different markets after the successful project. markets after the successful project.
